The mill is established near Tiaro in an abundant renewable timber region, some 250 kilometres or two and a half hours drive north of Brisbane, Queensland. Maryborough the closest major regional city is a short twenty minute drive north.

Tiaro is a fast growing yet peaceful rural hamlet, offering the best of country living with the advantage of first class city facilities close at hand.

Dale and Meyers Pty Ltd has been in operation for 12 years. From humble beginnings we have expanded rapidly to the large logging, sawmilling, timber treatment and structural quality timber distribution and sales business that exists today.

Our primary focus is on the hardwood structural grade market, and we have successfully established a wholesale customer base throughout Queensland which now includes all the major hardware chains, timber outlets and landscape yards. As the need to more fully utilise resources grew, we established our paling mill, commissioned a modern CCA treatment plant and entered the power pole and round building pole markets.

As our horizons have broadened, we have optimised global opportunities and now enjoy strong export relationships with New Zealand, Fiji, New Guinea and other Pacific nations.

Dale and Meyers Pty Ltd has secured considerable marketshare in the power pole market, winning contracts with SEQEB, Mackay Electricity Board, NORQEB and SWQEB.

Contracts have been awarded to supply power poles to Queensland Electricity Boards. Other advances have seen us establish wholesale timber distribution yards in Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, and Brisbane selling quality assured structural timber, treated landscape sleepers, fencing, timber posts, rails, palings, electricity poles and building poles. The business has gone from strength to strength!

During 1993, Dale and Meyers Pty Ltd won the Telecom and Queensland Government Small Business Award for a Manufacturer with less than 100 Employees', and in 1994 was successful in the Small and Medium Enterprise Round of the 'Australian Best Practice Demonstration Program'.

We are very proud of our achievements, and willingly embrace the opportunity to evolve further. We look forward to meeting the challenges of further expansion and change within the timber industry as we herald the New Millennium.
